His story

Picture this, your little man had the best game of his life, and you were there to see it. His team gave him high fives and patted him on the butt, showing their pride. When the game was over, his coach named him the MVP of the game. On your way home, Johnny explained the play-by-play of the night. You just sat there and listened with a big smile on your face.

The next day, you share with all your friends and colleagues about Johnny’s game. You mentioned all the things he told you and how he was the MVP of the night. The joy it gave you sharing his story with others. No one even noticed you had very little knowledge of the sport. You knew the basics well enough to explain his incredible night.

That is how our heavenly Father wants us to talk about His Son. He too is proud and wants the whole world to know what Jesus did. Most Sundays, we go to church and receive the message. On our way home, we might even discuss it in the car. But that’s where it stops. As soon as Monday comes, we focus solely on our job and forget to tell others what Jesus did for us. He’s our MVP!!. Sure, the Holy Spirit prompts us to share, but we don’t want to say the wrong thing, so we keep our mouths shut. And once again, humility wins. Satan uses our pride to keep us from sharing.

Why are we willing to share our accomplishments but not God’s?? It’s because the world accepts one, and the other is taboo. It is easier to tell about your son’s game than about God’s. Yet your son’s game does not impact them, and Jesus does. We have this backward.

In the end, God wins. Let Jesus be your coach. Don’t let your fears dictate what you share. Everyone needs the hope and reassurance that God gives us. Let His story be our story to tell.

God chose us to be his disciples. Therefore the command He gave before He left applies to us too. And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Mark 16:15.Continue to grow in your faith and share with others. God will see you as the MVP!!
